At a time when a guessing game on the story of 'Mugamoodi' is on, Mysskin's next venture starring Jiiva in the lead role which is touted to be a 'super hero' subject, we have an official version on the 'mega-budget' film.
"The story of the movie is based on the theme of the superhero that lies dormant in every human. Destiny pushes a love-struck young man into a dangerous world of adventure", says a source from UTV Motion Pictures, which is producing the movie.
They also say: "How he fights the evil incarnate and becomes the savior of society forms the rest of the story of Mugamoodi". Meanwhile, the pre-production on the project is already in progress.
In the meantime, UTV is currently busy with works related to the release of Vikarm-starrer 'Deiva Thirumagal'. The movie directed by Vijay, co-produced by Sree Rajakaliamman Medias and UTV Motion Pictures and will release across 350 screens in India July 15.

Let's go ahead and forget that we are at the end of spring and summer is well on it's way in many parts of the country -- we are going to spend a few days thinking about and cooking for HARVEST!!

Like many of you, fall and harvest time are my favorite time of year. Part of what makes it a favorite for me is the wonderful, comforting foods of the season.

When I think of The Harvest Table, my mind's eye sees a vintage scene where the farm wife has set a table laboring with food, much of it from her kitchen gardens, prepared for those who have come to assist her farmer husband with the harvest of his crops (or branding cattle, or cutting hay or .....). Her contribution is no small feat -- hours of cooking and baking go into each meal. Probably a very romantical notion in this day and age of mechinized farming BUT that is what my mind's eye imagines at the mention of The Harvest Table...I know, I've probably have read too many old books, lol.
When I recieved this book in the mail, I was thrilled to see some of my friends have recipes included (and I have 3 of my own recipes in there too). The chapters capture the season wonderfully - Hearty Autumn Brunch, Soup Supper with Friends, Simple Harvest Supper, Thanksgiving with All The Trimmings, Festive Fall Flavors and Save Room for Dessert. It was very hard to decide which recipes to include in my review -- I figured I'd go ahead and plan a day's menu - review and share recipes for Breakfast, Dinner (the noon-time meal) and Supper planned and made with the harvesters in mind.
The quentissential farm breakfast is bacon and eggs. My friend Tina's (from Gramma's In The Kitchen) recipe is wonderful and easily will feed an army of harvesters (or kids). I served this with warm flour tortillas to scoop this yummy, cheesy bacon and egg mixture into and lots of hot sauce for adding a spicy edge. YUM!!

1 lb bacon
1 doz. eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk
2 T margarine, divided
1/2 to 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Drain bacon on a paper towel-covered plate. Cut bacon into 1/2-inch pieces and set aside. In a bowl, beat eggs and milk until well blended. Add one tablespoon margarine to skillet; stir until melted. Add egg mixture; cook over medium heat until eggs are set, stirring occasionally to scramble. Turn off heat. Add bacon and desired amount of cheese; stir until cheese melts. Serves 10-12.

For the cereal lovers, there is my recipe for Nutty Skillet Granola -- scooped over vanilla yogurt and sliced peaches is a real breakfast (or any) time treat!

1 cup quick rolled oats
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup real maple syrup
3/4 cup light-brown sugar, lightly packed
1 cup raisins

In a large bowl, combine both types of oats, almonds, walnuts, pecans and the wheat germ. Set aside. In a 12-inch skillet, place oil, maple syrup and brown sugar. Place pan over medium heat and stir constantly until the sugar is melted and the mixture just begins to bubble, about 3 minutes. Add the oat mixture and stir well to completely coat with the syrup mixture. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until granola begins to sizzle and toast, about 3 to 4 minutes. Be careful not to burn it. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the raisins. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Transfer the granola into a sturdy container with a tight-fitting lid. Serve immediately or let rest until cool enough to cover and store. Will keep for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 7 cups.

No breakfast is complete without something yummy from the oven -- that would be my friend Nancy's Cranberry-Pumpkin Muffins. This recipe alone is the BEST reason to stock up on fresh cranberries and pop them into the freezer when in season!

1 c. canned pumpkin
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 c sugar
1/2 c. canola oil
2-1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped

In a bowl, combine pumpkin, eggs, sugar and oil; mix well. In a separate large bowl, combine flour, spice, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center of flour mixture; pour pumpkin mixture into well. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in cranberries (no need to thaw if frozen). Spoon into greased or paper-lined muffin cups, fillinf 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes, testing with a tooth pick for doneness after 20 minutes. Makes one dozen.

Now that the harvesters have had a hearty breakfast and put in a morning of hard work, they'd be looking forward to a midday meal to fuel them for several more hours work. Here in farm country that midday meal is referred to as DINNER. For dinner there is going to be Thyme Pork Chops, Herbed Potato Gratin and Feta Cheese Tossed Salad. To round the meal out, homemade rolls and LOTS of iced tea, lemonade and HOT coffee. I made this meal for my family and everyone enjoyed it very much -- especially the potatoes. I even made a low-carb version for myself and was bowled over by how yummy they were. I think this will be my go-to gratin recipe from here on out :)

The Thyme Pork Chops were both yummy and very simple to prepare -- I will be using this recipe more this summer as my herb garden always has lots of thyme planted.

6 Pork Loin center-cut chops, 1-inch thick
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp fresh thyme, chopped, or 1/2 tsp dried thyme

Sprinkle pork chops on both sides with salt and plenty of pepper. In a small bowl, stir together oil and thyme; brush over both sides of pork chops. Arrange in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

The salad was simple and yet very complex in it's flavors -- a great addition would be some thinly sliced apples - like a tart Granny Smith - YUM!

1 head green leaf lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
8-oz container crumbled feta cheese
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
3 to 4 stalks celery, finely chopped
1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp oil
2 Tbsp white vinegar

In a salad bowl, combine all ingredients except oil and vinegar. Toss to mix. Drizzle oil and vinegar over salad; toss again. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour. Serve chilled. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

The Herb Potato Gratin was FABULOUS and so very simple to make. The addition of the garlic & herb soft cheese resulted in a flavor that made this dish seem more elegant and fussy than it actually was - in other words, fancy enough for company - easy enough for everyday -- my kind of recipe. To make this low-carb, I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of swapping the potatoes for a head of cauliflower -- EXCELLENT!!

2 to 4 Tbsp butter, melted
3 lbs redskin potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (I skipped the peeling part)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 c. whipping cream
5-oz container soft cheese with garlic & herbs

Spread butter in a 13x9-inch baking pan. Arrange half of sliced potatoes in a pan; season generously with salt and pepper. In a large heavy saucepan over medium heat, stir cream and cheese mixture until smooth. Pour half of cheese mixture over potatoes in pan. Arrange remaining potatoes on top; season with more salt and pepper. Pour remaining cream mixture over potatoes. Bake, uncovered, at 400°F for about one hour, until golden brown and potatoes are tender. Serves 8.

This is the week that company is coming. I'm so excited to see my parents from Arizona and #1 son from Minnesota. I have been sprucing and fluffing and will be putting the finishing touches on a couple projects this afternoon - BUT for the most part am ready. What do you do to welcome others into your home? Is hospitality one of your gifts or do you have to work at it? I am in the latter category -- I am good at fussing over the details but maybe not so great at the actual art of hospitality - well family is easy but I do tend to allow myself to get bogged down in fussing over what is not important -- yeah, I am probably a Martha who wishes like heck she was more of a Mary.

Low-Carb Living ~ Vanilla Ice Cream

I scream,You scream,WE ALL scream for ICE CREAM!! Even us low-carb and sugar-free eaters!!
This recipe is inspired by a recipe posted by Cathy at Wives with Knives. Cathy is a superb cook, Farmer's Market vendor and fabulous blogger. You SHOULD be following her :)

When I saw her version, I was pretty sure I could de-carb it -- and I did. I served this ice cream as a treat at #2 daughter's birthday supper - very yummy. I had mine with sugar-free chocolate syrup Y-U-M-M-O!!
Low-Carb, Sugar-free Vanilla Ice Cream (Just, or at least Sorta Like DQ’s)

1 envelope Knox gelatin
1/4 c cold water
2 c unsweetened almond milk
1 c splenda
1 Tbsp real vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1-1/2 c heavy cream

Soak gelatin in cold water. Heat almond milk, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add gelatin, splenda, vanilla and salt. Cool and add cream. Chill 5 to 8 hours. Pour into ice cream freezer can. Process according to manufacturer’s directions. Scoop into a freezer storage container, cover well and freeze several hours or overnight. Makes 8 - 1/2 cup servings. 4.5 net carbs per serving.

The next flavor of ice cream I want to try to make is COFFEE -- my favorite :)

    That's the whole point. If you know that petitioning employer will not withdraw I-140, there is no need to notify the USCIS about the job change. Obviously it's in someone's best interest to notify the USCIS of invoking AC21 if there is a risk of I-140 withdrawal.

    And at the end, the GC was not rescinded even though the person did not notify the USCIS about AC21:

    "After about eight months of persistent follow-up on our part with the various federal agencies and AILA, we received a favorable decision for our client. It stated that, upon further consideration, the grounds for the rescission did not apply and that, after a complete review of the record of proceeding, the original approval of the Adjustment of Status Application was reaffirmed."

  • werc04-11 01:02 PMThe only leeway USCIS has w.r.t EADs are the duration of the EADs and not the timing of the issue of the EAD. The fact that the EAD can be given only after the I485 is filed is governed by the INA.

    Further the grant of EADs in all the eligible categories is more or less the same. Even if the timing of the grant of the EAD were in USCIS hands ,it is hard to request an alternative interpretation of the regulation in some cases (eg after I-140) while retaining the same interpretation for other categories (eg EAD after completion of Education). This just opens up a lot of loopholes.

    ON top of all this we have to take into consideration the huge inherent inertia of the USCIS to change. As already pointed out the only recourse available would be to change the law of the land, on which path we are already traversing.

    I believe it's not the notice date. My notice date is one day after the date from their website. Most likely it's that date when they entered the case into the system.

    What has it got to do with job or immigration status ?

    Well, for one, a driver's license is the most commonly accepted proof of identity. It's not just about driving skills. The procedures for it's issuance affect the security of the country. Sorry, I think it is you who are missing the point.

    conservative districts. Thats was the Howard dean/Rahm emanuel strategy. Select candiates who can win rather than candidates who are steadfast with core democratic party principles.

    (pro guns) in a state like Virginia.

    If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.

    IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.

    No big change in my life. Just continuing to live my life as I have been doing all the time. I had never restricted myself due to not having green card in my hand.

    Called my wife first after seeing the emails to share the news. Then immediately called the near and dear ones in India to share the news.

    - How did the long wait upset your life?
    It did not impact my life as such. Since the time I entered US, I have been having a good job that pays well (I work for a top financial company). Only impact was that I could not travel to India freely due to the H1B stamping requirement. Every time I travelled to India, I had to spend additional time here in US to collect documents and the required things for visa stamping and hand to spend invaluable time in India to go through the visa stamping process.

    The internet site was very helpful as there were lot of people sharing information and ideas.

    The problem here is not just the TB skin test, but the blood test that tests for HIV and the other STD. It is mandatory for the Civil surgeon to draw blood and check for these. My civil surgeon told me he will not accept these 2 tests from any other doctor. I got the TB skin test done at a local clinic before the medical appointment and he accepted that.

    Also, XRAY's are NOT madatory. Only if you have a positive reaction to the skin test then you are required to do the XRAY to rule out TB.

    About, sending the medical reports later, all discusssions here point to the fact that there is no concensus. It would be every attorneys call if they want to submit without the medicals. But, remember USCIS document clearly states that you are REQUIRED to submit medicals. No where does it mention that you can send it later on. So, in the event that you do not submit your Medicals and they reject your I-485, you will really have NO legal basis to appeal other than make a plea.

    I also agree with the person who warned you about the flights getting delayed. You are cutting it too close! Your wife needs to come back earlier. If this is an emergency, then she should come back, get medicals done, submit I-485 and then go back. All this can be achieved in about 4-5 days. Ask for an EMERGENCY appointment at the consulate. PLEAD your case. Dont walk away from the consulate till they give you an EMERGENCY Appointment

    I strongly suggest that she shoudl catch the next flight back and return. You are not going to get this "chance" anytime soon again.
    What will be the basis for emergency appointment ? I was strictly warned not to mention AOS as the basis for the request as it can seriously harm.

She seemed to be very ignorant of general USCIS regs and laws, but she called somebody and this is the answer she came up with.

    My category is EB2-India with PD of Feb 2004 which is current for June. So, my question to all the gurus here is: WTF does this mean "waiting for a visa number"? i told her that my PD is current, so there is no need for waiting, but then she told me that my application was received on July 2nd 2007 and I need to wait. I tried explaining that 485 receipt date has no relation to PD, but it was a lost cause.

    Any comments from the wise on this board?

    The only time you have to file a new H1 is when you leave US and remain outside for a year. Otherwise an transfer is all you need. This misconception is very widespread. Rajiv Khanna was at pains to try to exterminate this in one of his tele-conferences.

    But I am actually working in California from past 7 years. The only place that I specified my current california address is in G325 (485 supporting document).

    Also I move within california after filing 485.

    Because I gave my company address in all the 485 applications, I did not even change my address in any of the applications. I only filed AR11 online for the address change. Advantage with online is, you will get a confirmation number.

    That is what my company recomended me.

    I got my EAD and all other receipts to the company address.

    Waiting for AP and FP mails.

    I also heard from my company that, my company will receive the finger print notice but the appointment office will be in california.

    I suppose you are living in USA.

    On the second option "non-resident alien", if you are residing in USA, then you are not considered as non-resident. So I would eliminate this option.

    On the first option "non-permanent resident alien", if you are residing in USA, I would choose this as the right option. Since holding an H1B means that you are a temporary (non-permanent) resident alien. Holding an EAD does not allow you to stay here permanently. It is only a temporary authorization to allow you to work without H1B. Remember that it requires renewal every year.

    To answer your question, you are a non-permanent resident alien.

So, the child will have to depart the US at that time as he will no longer be able to get any valid non-immigrant visa (except probably an H1). As immigration intent has been expressed such a child will not be able to get F-1 visa. I would have to research this further as the prospect of my child having to depart the US after the rest of the family gets a GC is just too much for me to bear at this time! I'll pose the question to my lawyer and hear her opinion.
    You can convert from an H4 to an F1. The definition of the F1 is not as strict as you might imagine, hope you do not come to this though.
